Handcrafted Classic Luxury
The Bentley S1 (originally the “Bentley S”) was a luxury car produced by Bentley Motors Limited from 1955 until 1959. During this time only 3538 were ever made, it’s hard to know how many still remain on the roads today.
It has a timeless art deco look to it, perfect for any wedding. It would have been old fashioned by the time this car was built in 1955, but at the time, trendiness was much more important for things like sports cars than for luxury cars. The art deco look is repeated on the interior, particularly in the wood inlaid dash.
The standard S1 weighing in at 4,242 pounds, and this aluminum-bodied version presumably weighing a bit less, it’s at the very least 1,000 pounds lighter than any of Bentley’s current models.
The S1 has a 4.9-liter inline-six engine that ideal so smoothly you barely know its running. It has a four-speed automatic transmission and produces about 178 horsepower, which was a lot for its day.
